PAKATAN RAKYAT STILL CAN TAKE SABAH?

DATO’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim had commented on the 29th of November in the local paper ‘Borneo Post’ that Pakatan Rakyat will still be able to take Sabah in the coming general election.

Kota Kinabalu Member of Parliament Dr. Hiew King Cheu when contacted by the Borneo Post for his comments and views on the statement made by the Pakatan Rakyat top leader/chairman Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, he said Dato’ Seri Anwar is not wrong in making such statement and he is basing on a lot of findings and historical records to say that. I fully support his statement and I personally think the same as he is.

The by-election in Batu Sapi will not anyway be an indicator for a guaranteed or sweeping win for the Barisan Nasional (BN) for the coming general election in Sabah. There are similar cases in the past where PR had lost badly in the by-election (eg. Ijok), but in the March 8th general election we won back the seat with great majorities.

Pakatan Rakyat Sabah Secretariat (PRSS) under the guidance of the central leadership is working hard throughout the state of Sabah to ensure a win in the next election. Dato’ Seri Anwar is a man of fore sight and through his inspiration and guidance Sabah PR will strive to achieve the goal of taking in Sabah in the next election.

We in the mean times are not taking the BN lightly, because the BN has been the government for a long period and they have the backing of the government machineries, finance and many ‘new bumiputras’ in hand, plus the postal votes and the ‘new voters’.

What the Sabah PR has is just a bunch of hard working and all voluntary party workers, and their strong determinations to bring to the Sabahan a total change and a new future and hope in Sabah.

It is proven that in Batu Sapi where a handful of the Sabah DAP KK youth members and DAP leaders (less than twenty people), we can bring about a vote amount in the polling stations in town areas beating the votes of the BN and SAPP. When compared to the money, hundreds of people, machineries, material and backup of the BN, we PR in Sabah had done well indeed. Through the Batu Sapi by-election, we learnt our weaknesses and we will make changes to improve all.

The most important thing is that we have the people behind us, to support us and wanted a change in the future. The people are waiting for the big day to come, and their wish to become real. Many people had told me of their intention and feelings for a new Sabah Government soon.

That is why Dato’ Seri Anwar’s statement is not unfounded and out of the blue, but he indeed has based it on the ground facts and feedback. We don’t simply make assumption because this is what the people wants and we will try our very best to deliver according to their expectation. That is a new government for Sabah. -Sabahkini

  1. PR masih perlu mendapatkan keyakinan rakyat Sabah jika ingin merampas Sabah.
