Harapan PR Ke Putrajaya Berkecai?

  7. Ansari Abdullah has labelled fellow counterparts in the opposition camp, the Angkatan Perubahan Sabah (APS), as “liars” for failing to keep to their alleged promise not to field any candidate in the 13th general election (GE13).

    ReplyDelete
  8. In fact, the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) supreme council member has also criticised his own party leadership for their alleged failure to provide the “autonomy” for Sabah, which he stressed has been preached all the while.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Ansari was referred to the PKR leadership’s decision not to recognise the “decisions” made by several divisions on their preferred candidates.

    ReplyDelete
  10. “The seven proposed candidates’ names which were announced recently are not my list. It is not Ansari’s line-up. It was the decision made by the respective divisions in the West Coast North areas. We were promised the autonomy to make decision as stipulated in the Buku Jinggaand Kuching Declaration.

    ReplyDelete
  11. “Unfortunately three quarterd of the list were rejected, where of the seven candidates, only two made it. It is sad to say but the party has failed the test,” he asserted.

    ReplyDelete
  12. PKR has failed to show its sincerity, failed to show that it is practicing autonomy. So today, all of us will have to go back to our respective divisions to explain the situation and will make a decision on any future undertaking. Saturday (which is the nomination date) is a very long time to go, and in politics, anything can happen,” he told reporters when cornered after an informal meeting here, yesterday.

    ReplyDelete
  13. It was learnt that the meeting was called following dissatisfaction among several division leaders and members over the newly unveiled PKR candidates’ list by Sabah PKR chief Ahmad Thamrin Jaini in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, two days ago.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Ansari had announced their proposed list which included himself for the Tuaran constituency and surgeon-activist-author Dr Chong Eng Leong for Sepanggar, Mazhry Nasir (Putatan), Anthony Mandiau (Kota Marudu), Mursalim Tanjul (Kudat), Saidil Semoi (Kota Belud) and Jonathan Yassin (Ranau). Only Anthony and Jonathan made it to the fray.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Describing it as “not a total rejection”, Ansari was slightly happy that at least quite a number of PKR leaders are fielded in the coming GE13.

    ReplyDelete
  16. As for APS, he said although seats have been divided for the non-governmental organisation headed by former United Pasok Momogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation’s deputy president Datuk Wilfred Bumburing and Pakatan Perubahan Sabah (PPS), led by former Umno Supreme Council Member Datuk Seri Panglima Lajim Ukin, he does not see it as ‘disturbing’ but more of ‘lying’.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Wilfred will be contesting for the Tuaran parliamentary and Tamparuli state seats, while Lajim is fielded to defend his Beaufort parliamentary and Klias state seats.

    ReplyDelete
  18. “I do not see anything he did as helping PKR, may be he helped to kick us out. We look at it in two ways, it is either he is lying or probably someone had forced him to be a candidate, thus making that person a liar,” Ansari said in reference to Bumburing.

    ReplyDelete
  19. For us, we have a party and constitution. Most of the division chiefs are hurt. They are questioning how can a NGO who is not registered as a political party are involved in politics. It is against the law. It is also intriguing that the government is aware of this but they are not taking any action … or is this also part of their plan?” he asked.

    ReplyDelete
  20. The Tuaran PKR division chief said that for the non-PKR members to contest under the party’s symbol, it is not insulting but rather a sign of betrayal.

    ReplyDelete
  21. “You have betrayed the PKR members for giving the party’s symbol to somebody who is not a member. And I blame the person who signed the symbol and the person who advised the signing. If I am the president of the party, I will not give the symbol to a non-member.

    ReplyDelete
  22. When I was the State PKR chief, I made a Pas member who was a candidate for PKR to fill in the membership form because I do not want to allow a non-member to contest under the PKR symbol. This is a question of principal, party and discipline,” said Ansari who joined the opposition party 14 years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  23. He however stressed that he will not be a candidate this coming election.

    ReplyDelete
  24. “I promised my people that I will only be a candidate under PKR and nothing else, but PKR feel I am not good enough (this time). I will not be a candidate for this election, so you can take the issue of me becoming a candidate, or to contest as an independent candidate out, because my decision stays – I will not contest in this election.

    ReplyDelete
  25. “The real issue here is not about me being a candidate, it is about us being promised the autonomy but autonomhy is not here. Fullstop. It is about the division making a decision, (and) the decision is not respected. Fullstop. It is about the promise to treat us as equal partners, (but) now are we being treated as equal partners when we are not even consulted about the candidates’ list?”

    ReplyDelete
  26. On a question whether he would be supporting the candidate for Tuaran (Wilfred), his response: “I am a PKR member, a PKR divisional head and a Supreme Council Member. I will assist PKR members who are contesting, wherever they are.

    ReplyDelete
  27. “I am a lawyer, that is my problem, I am a member of this party and I have the legal and morale responsibility to help PKR members fielded in the coming election,” he said.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) has reminded voters that under the Constitution of Sabah, only a political party with a majority of seats in the Sabah Legislative Assembly shall form the Sabah government.

    ReplyDelete
  29. “Unregistered parties and unregistered coalition of parties and NGOs are not qualified under the law to be elected as governments,” its president Yong Teck Lee said in a statement here.
The target of his reprimand is Pakatan Rakyat, the loose coalition of opposition parties and friendly groupings which remains an unregistered body.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yong, who tried to seal an election pact with the Anwar Ibrahim-led Pakatan in order to reduce the field of contenders in next month’s election, said it would be a waste to vote for candidates fielded by the coalition for the state constituencies.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yong reiterated that in order to fulfil its struggle for political autonomy, SAPP would contest a majority of state seats so that the Sabah government would be elected by the people of Sabah and answerable only to the people of Sabah.

    ReplyDelete
  32. “If we had known earlier that disarray within Pakatan would be so crippling, we would have made preparations to contest more state seats.

  46. The opposition adopts the divide and rule approach, practised by the colonial masters against the people of the country some time ago, in their political strategy, said Umno Information chief Datuk Ahmad Maslan.

    ReplyDelete

  47. He said approach used by the opposition was dangerous to the country’s future.

    ReplyDelete
  48. “They (opposition) use the approach used by the colonials before, that is divide and rule, to get power. It is dangerous to the country’s future because it can create rift among the people,” he told reporters after the closing of the “Barisan 1 Malaysia” gathering by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman.

    ReplyDelete

  49. Ahmad, who is Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, said the opposition adopted the divide and rule approach with the hope of breaking the unity among Muslims and Malays by accusing Umno an apostate.

    ReplyDelete
  50. He said the opposition parties were trying to disrupt religious harmony in the country by pushing for the use of the word “Allah” by the Christians in their Bible.

    ReplyDelete
  51. The opposition, he said, was also trying to erode the people’s confidence in the Election Commission by accusing the commission of not being clean and transparent in the handling of the general elections in the country.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Earlier, Abdul Ghani, in his speech, said Malaysia would be heading for disaster if the opposition were to take over the country’s administration after the coming general election.

    ReplyDelete

  53. Local and foreign investors would leave Malaysia because they have no confidence in the opposition leadership, like PAS president Datuk Abdul Hadi Awang, PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, DAP chairman Karpal Singh, DAP secretary-general Lim Guang Eng and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, he added.

    ReplyDelete

  54. The opposition is only good at deceiving the people that the Barisan Nasional government did nothing for Kota Marudu but it is their own leader who had yet to fulfil his promise to the longhouse folks made 20 years ago.

    ReplyDelete

  55. Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Maximus Ongkili said Anwar Ibrahim had come to Kota Marudu in 1994 when he was then Finance Minister and remarked that the longhouse dwellings looked like chicken coop, and he promised to replace the longhouses and transform Sabah within 100 days.

    ReplyDelete

  56. “What has Anwar done since then? Nothing. But he has the cheek to tell Kota Marudu folks that the Barisan Nasional leaders here did nothing,” he said during the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the bailey bridge at Kg Simpangan-Nangko here on Sunday (April 28).

    ReplyDelete

  57. Citing an example of the bailey bridge, he said the opposition used the issue to deceive the people by taking photographs showing a vehicle stuck in the river water because there was no bailey bridge to cross over.

    ReplyDelete

  58. “The opposition posted the photo in the Internet showing people pulling the car across the river, but when we looked at the photograph the car tyres showed the river water was not even high and the vehicle was not even stuck.

    ReplyDelete

  59. “The opposition is only good at janji ambil gambar dan janji mengadu (promise to take photographs to paint a false picture and complain about the government),” he said.

    ReplyDelete

  60. Dr Ongkili said the Barisan Nasional government would promise to do what it could fulfil such as the building of the bailey bridge that would benefit eight villages.

    ReplyDelete

  61. The bailey bridge cost some sum of money as it not only involves installing the bridge but also foundation work. Already in place at the river is a suspension bridge.

    ReplyDelete
  62. It is also proposed that the road leading to the river be upgraded under the 4th rolling plan of the Tenth Malaysia Plan. The bailey bridge is expected to be ready in June.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Later, Dr Ongkili launched the new Kg Longob longhouse which is one of the 24 longhouses approved for reconstruction by the federal government between 2009 and 2012, to replace those that were old and dilapidated.

    ReplyDelete
  64. “Hence, it is only the opposition who are purposely disregarding the attention the Barisan Nasional government is giving to Kota Marudu,” he added.

    ReplyDelete
  65. On the opposition claiming that he (Dr Ongkili) had not resolved the overlapping land claim issue involving Safoda and Begaraya and the villagers, Dr Ongkili said it was the opposition who was impeding the process.

    ReplyDelete
  66. “The opposition is deceiving the people not to accept the solution to the land issue and telling the people that they would lose out if they accept,” he said.

    ReplyDelete

  67. Dr Ongkili said the state government had agreed to issue communal titles to the villages concerned with the ultimate aim to divide it into individual titles.

    ReplyDelete

  68. “But the opposition is telling the people that communal title is bad, thus the people will not get the rights over their kampung land,” he added.

    ReplyDelete
  69. He said as the representatives in Kota Marudu – himself, the two state assemblymen Sarapin Magana (who is defending his Matunggong state seat) and Anita Baranting (who is the Barisan Nasional candidate for Tandek) – had worked hard to resolve the issue as native customary rights land belong to the villagers and land is an asset to them. Following this, a solution was decided upon to issue the communal titles to ensure the land belonged to the people.

    ReplyDelete

  70. Two communal titles involving Kg Bombong 1 and Kg Sungai Magandai are ready for release while four more villages are in process.

  71. The decision by Petronas to launch oil, gas and energy (OGE) mega projects in Sabah is an indication that the national petroleum company is convinced of the sector’s commercial viability in the state

    ReplyDelete
  72. These projects are expected to generate about RM18 billion worth of investments and create about 23,000 jobs. SAMUR alone, which is on-stream by 2014, is estimated to bring in about RM4.5 billion worth of investment value and provide over 2,000 jobs

    ReplyDelete
  73. The Chief Minister therefore urged small and medium entrepreneurs to identify and explore their business niche along the oil and gas value chain to help boost the creation of value-added products and create opportunities for local start-ups.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Musa assured that the State Government is fully committed to the development of the oil and gas industry in Sabah by constantly engaging with the Federal Government in discussions to provide funds for the physical development of infrastructure and industrial facilities, and with Petronas on matters such as gas supply.
