Apple Design Criteria Announced

Apple released its criteria for this year’s Apple Design Awards (ADAs). The awards which are presented at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference will be open to Apps for Apple devices.

Last year the awards did not include those Apps designed for Mac operating software. However, this year if the App can be found in Apple’s new Mac App store then it is eligible for an award.

Many Mac OS developers were disappointed with being snubbed last year as Apple only rewarded developers of iPhone and iPad Apps.

Apple will carefully choose apps based on excellence in innovation, design and technical merit. But by exclusively limiting the awards to Apps in the Mac App store, it will mean that many Apps will miss out. It has also become apparent that a number of previously award-winning Apps have failed to make it into the App store.

If too many developers are left out in the cold then they may choose to turn to Android systems in order to find an outlet channel for their Apps. -brothersoft.com
