DAP Sabah has some concerns with the recent announcement from the Election Commission (EC) that a total of 242,294 members of security forces are allowed to cast their votes as advance voters instead of postal voters.
Junz Wong DAP Sabah assistant secretary welcomed the decision we would like the EC to provide a breakdown of these advance voters based on constituency. We want a clarification from the EC so that the people are aware which constituencies these advance voters are voting.
DAP Sabah requests the EC as a matter of fairness to announce these advance voters before the general election. This is to prevent any suspicion or perception of cheating or unfair practice during the coming 13th general election.
Since the EC is not allowing early counting for areas with small number of voters, we would like the EC to put in place a sealing, identification and storing process for these ballot boxes to avoid any tampering.
Junz Wong who is also DAPSY assistant Youth Chief, is happy to note the intention of the EC to undertake a fair and clean election however, it must listen and take notes of all the concerns, suggestions and recommendations of political parties and NGOs for a better, fair and clean election in Malaysia.
For example, the EC should publish the 13,000 dubious mystery voters’ names and to ascertain whether they are genuine or not. These mystery voters, postal voters and illegal voters are the main problems and a concern for all patriotic Malaysians during election.
We are also concerned about the high number of eligible voters who are still not registered as voters.
EC should work harder to ensure that all eligible voters are registered as voters. We also hope that the EC will ensure that the election process is transparent, accountable and reliable.
According to Election Commission Chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof, a total of 242, 294 members of security forces in the country will no longer cast their ballots as postal voters in the forthcoming general elections. They will become advance voters by default and will be allowed to cast their votes a few days before actual polling days. These 242,294 members are mainly from army (147,681) and police (94,613)

SPR perlu siarkan 13,000 senarai nama pengundi yang meragukan itu. Mungkin ada ahli keluarga mereka atau tuan punya nama sendiri yang akan tampil untuk beri maklumat.

ReplyDeletePRU13 kali ini dikatakan bakal menyaksikan pertandingan yang sengit. Oleh itu, adalah menjadi tanggungjawab SPR untuk pastikan p/raya ini bebas daripada sebarang manipulasi yang boleh merosakkan jumlah undi. Mungkin rakaman video boleh dibuat di tempat memeriksa senarai nama pengundi selain ada pemerhati bebas untuk memantau perjalanan proses pengundian.

ReplyDeleteMereka yang 13,000 meragukan itu seharusnya disiasat. Memang SPR tidak ada kuasa untuk menggugurkan nama mereka dari mengundi tanpa ada bukti kukuh. Maka itu sebab SPR perlu menyiasat perkara ini.
