Siapa Terima 1 juta Saham Felda?

(MKINI)

  18. Close cooperation between the government and private sector will strengthen domestic and foreign investors’ confidence towards of the State economy and the huge potential of the domestic tourism.

  19. “This is in line with the state government’s emphasis and commitment to be a pro-business government and its approach towards the private sector as its partner,” Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman, said in his keynote address when officiating the grand opening of Harbour Mall Sandakan and Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan on Saturday night.

  20. Tourism, which is one of the Halatuju sectors, continues to be one of Sabah’s economic catalysts.

Sabah State Government projects tourist arrivals of about 2.75 million or more this year, repeating positive performance in 2011, Musa said.

    ReplyDelete
  21. “As Sabah continues to grow as a popular tourist destination, Musa expressed confidence that tourist arrival figures will continue to increase in the years to come. This also means more hotel rooms are needed to accommodate the increasing number of visitors and hence the opening of Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan is indeed timely,” he added.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The Chief Minister believes that through proper planning and sound management, the hospitality and property sectors will continue to significantly contribute to the State’s economy while giving more attractive returns on investment for developers.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Meanwhile, Musa also urged hotel operators and commercial property developers to be mindful of the need to reduce their carbon footprint.

“Sabah is known for its biodiversity, clean environment and nature based destinations and Sandakan is known as a gateway to Sabah’s nature. Environment conscious guests will be drawn to establishments which show real commitment in going green,” Musa, who is also State Finance Minister, said.

    ReplyDelete
  24. He pointed out that it was also important for hotels and commercial property developers in Sabah and Sandakan included, to raise the bar on standards and services so that guests and customers would return not only to Sabah, but also to their hotel and mall. Hence, industry players should strive to maintain the cleanliness and aesthetic elements of their premises.

    ReplyDelete
  25. The Chief Minister also urged industry players to be mindful of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) towards the surrounding communities by providing clean and safe areas as well as facilities conducive for recreational activities.

  26. In his welcoming speech, ICSD Ventures Sdn Bhd Managing Director, Lai Voon Hon, acknowledged the strong support of several leaders including Musa, who have been very instrumental in making this project a success.

  27. “We are very fortunate to have among our visionary supporters none other than our very own Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman, who has supported this project from the beginning,” Lai said.

  28. The Tourism Ministry's policy on licensing foreigners as tour guides, especially in the Korean language, was made to overcome the shortage of local tour guides who can speak the language.

Tourism, Culture and Environment Assistant Minister Datuk Ellron Angin said this in reply to a question from Bugaya Assemblyman Datuk Ramlee Marahaban at the State Assembly, here, Wednesday.

    ReplyDelete
  29. He said there's no denying that Sabah, in particular, and Malaysia, in general, lacked local tour guides who are fluent in the language, with only 10 local Korean speaking tour guides in Sabah.

He added, however, that out of this number only two tour guides are still active.

"The State Government felt that the work should be performed by local tour guides and not foreigners, as only local guides are well versed with the local culture and tourism products.

    ReplyDelete
  30. "However, in order to overcome the shortage of Korean speaking local tour guides, the State Government through my Ministry has been in talks with the Tourism Ministry, the Sabah Tourist Guides Association, the Malaysian Tour Operators Association and other government agencies concerned," he said.

    ReplyDelete
  31. He said as a result of the discussion, an agreement was reached in which the Tourism Ministry agreed to give one year to the State's tourism sector to train local guides in the language.

"After this period, the Tourism Ministry will review whether it would still need to licence foreign Korean guides," he said. Meanwhile, another Tourism, Culture and Environment Assistant Minister Datuk Bolkiah Ismail said it is the responsibility of the Government to provide houses for teachers posted in remote areas in order to overcome the shortage of houses for these teachers.

    ReplyDelete
  32. "As of July this year, the Education Ministry has provided a total of 6,000 units of teachers' quarters in the State," he said, adding however that this amount was not enough to overcome the lack of facilities, especially in far-flung places.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Thus, he said, the State Education Department has applied for an allocation of RM240 million under the 10th Malaysia Plan's Third Rolling Plan for the construction of teachers' quarters in the State, including in rural areas.

    ReplyDelete
  34. "So far, the application is still under scrutiny by the Economic Planning Unit," he added.

"In addition, efforts are also being made by the Education Department to include teachers' quarters in each new school building project, projects for proposed building replacement and additional building projects which have been approved," he said.

  35. The facilities within the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel and Harbour Mall create a conducive environment for a variety of economic and tourism sectors, and makes the Hotel a location for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Exhibitions) here, said Datuk Seri Musa Aman.

Speaking at the grand opening of Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan Hotel and the Harbour Mall Sandakan on Saturday night, the Chief Minister said the opening of the Hotel is timely in view of the strong growth in tourism and investment in the state.

    ReplyDelete
  36. “As Sabah continues to grow as a popular tourist destination, I am confident that tourist arrival figures will continue to increase in the years to come and this also means more hotel rooms are needed to accommodate the increasing number of visitors,” he said.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Musa believed that the hospitality and property sectors will continue to significantly contribute to the state’s economy while giving more attractive returns for investments to developers.

“In this context, the Government will continue to support and provide incentives in order to generate more vigorous growth in the hospitality, property and tourism sectors.

    ReplyDelete
  38. “Therefore it is important for there to be close cooperation between the Government and private sector, which is in line with our emphasis and commitment to be a pro-business government and our approach towards the private sector as our partner,” Musa said.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The Chief Minister also urged hotel operators and commercial property developers to be mindful of the need to reduce their carbon footprint.

“As you all know, Sabah is known for its biodiversity, clean environment and nature based destinations, Sandakan too is known as a gateway to Sabah’s nature, hence please strive to maintain the cleanliness and aesthetic elements of your premises,” he said.
