“Makcik dah biasa dah.”
-selangorku

ReplyDeletePrime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said that the majority of the Felda Global Ventures Holdings (FGVH) shares are owned by Malaysian citizens.
ReplyDeleteHe said most of the shares were given to Felda settlers and trust funds in the country.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteThe government gave the majority of the shares to the settlers and certain trust funds such as the Pilgrims Fund Board (Tabung Haji), Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and the Pemodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB).
This was said by Najib after launching the ''Kasih Felda'' programme in Padang Piol.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteAS such, Najib said the profits made by the FGVH would definitely benefit the people of Malaysia.
ReplyDeleteHe said the federal government had also distributed the FGVH shares to the state government, with Pahang receiving funds amounting RM250 million and Sabah, with RM200 million.
"We are giving priority to the states that can provide land to the government (for Felda land development programme)," he said.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteIn his speech earlier, the prime minister said various allegations had been made against the listing of FGVH with certain quarters even accused Felda of being bankrupt.
ReplyDelete"If Felda is bankrupt, how can it be listed in the Bursa Malaysia? Even the Qatari Prime Minister wants the FGVH shares. When I asked him how much he wants, he said as mush as I can give," he said.
Najib said if outsiders and foreign companies were willing to pay large amount of money to get FGVH shares, then Felda settlers should be grateful that they were given the shares by the ruling government.

ReplyDeletePresent at the launch were Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister''s Department Datuk Ahmad Maslan and Felda chairman Tan Sri Isa Samad.
ReplyDeleteThe Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (Risda) intends to follow the footsteps of Felda Global Ventures Holdings (FGVH) for listing on Bursa Malaysia in future.
ReplyDeleteIts chairman Tan Sri Rahim Tamby Chik said they were currently carrying out research regarding the best method for this purpose.
ReplyDeleteRisda is different from Felda because the land is owned by the farmers, and the plan depends on the approval of the government.
ReplyDeleteHe told reporters after handing over dividends to participants of the Group New Planting Scheme (RTBB) and Commercial Replanting Scheme (TSK) in Melaka at Masjid Tanah.
ReplyDeleteA total of 2,113 participants throughout the state received dividends totalling RM26.98 million.
ReplyDeleteHe said they also planned to create a unit trust through Risda Holdings in order to increase the income of the smallholders and Risda staff, and to protect their interests, in the near future.
Rahim said Risda expected the distribution of dividends to RTBB and TSK participants throughout the country to be completed before the Hari Raya celebration.

ReplyDeletePrime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak announced the payment of dividends totalling RM314.6 million to 39,306 participants of the RTBB TSK for the year 2011.
