SIPITANG : The overall indication of opposition political parties' strength in Sabah, according to Progressive Party (SAPP) are in fact ready for an onslaught on BN in a big way.
"In so long as opposition parties seen by general public that they work together and determine to topple BN they have enough support from the masses to make it happen," according to Amde, who is SAPP deputy president.
While speaking in one of the Aidilfitri open houses held in Kampung Skim, Sindumin today, he said, "Likewise, if any indication shows that politicians' doings are for self-interest or wanting to jump ship if and when they win, this would surely create self-destruction and BN will win big."
He added that the trend, should the GE be held today, Sabahans are ready even UMNO members would land support to execute mutiny.
"Sabah has had a history creating many giant killers in the past, examples during the eras of USNO, BERJAYA and PBS including former Chief Minister Tan Sri Harris Salleh used money like rainwater yet fell victim. Therefore whoever thinkS that veterans still having many following would better be thinking twice.
On the issue of old personalities whether they still play important role in this coming election, he said, old names are there but the young are reading their history, if one has been a YB for the past twenty years, surely their records of twenty years would be taken as a yardstick; if they performed only mediocrely, they won't get elected another five years.
"This time round the young-new voters look set to play an important role; they have been ignored, underestimated or even bullied for sometime. Whilst, the older ones those are given chances becoming ketua kampong, ketua imam alike, may be stunned, supporter of BN in particular UMNO. But their young are not thinking like them. The young who have frequent visits to towns and cities across the nation or better still our nation's capital are an informed generation, perhaps have more to tell to their elders.

constituents in Membakut will continue to support BN in the coming election. The area is still a BN stronghold. It belongs to BN.
ReplyDeleteThe Sabah government believes the petroleum royalty sharing formula is negotiable. the formula that saw Sabah and Sarawak receiving 5% petroleum revenues in the form of royalties could be studied further.
ReplyDeleteWhat opposition's solidarity that Yong talked about?? He must be still dreaming that the opposition can work together. Much worse, he still hoping that SAPP can win in this coming election.

Let the leaders decide so it can be beneficial to the people and the government.
ReplyDeletePM is willing to listen to the voice of the people and their needs as well.
ReplyDeleteMusa has made an effort so that the oil royalty is open for discussion with the federal government.
ReplyDeleteThe result of the next general election would tell.
ReplyDeleteLet's wait and see the winning party.
ReplyDeleteNATIVE RIGHTS
ReplyDeleteWhen Yong Teck Lee says that SAPP is fighting for native rights, he is simply lying. When he was the chief minister [1996–1998], lands allocated to natives were actually ‘stolen’ and given to public-listed companies.
A good example is the Tongod Region where not less than 20,000 acres of land earlier set aside for native socio-economic projects, under the ‘Tongod Regional Planning Study’, mooted during the Berjaya era, were given away to a public-listed company. This is blatant Daylight Robbery!!
As a consequence, the impoverished and largely hardcore poor of Tongod lost their birthright (ancestral lands) and became ‘refugees’ on their own land, setting up ‘sulaps’ along the road bordering their stolen land, eating dust induced by passing vehicles, everyday. To add insult to injury, the mega companies that now occupy the ‘stolen’ lands, evicted them and bulldozed even their dilapidated dwellings.
Now SAPP goes around trying to champion the rights and native customary lands. This is World-Class Hypocrisy!!
All is not lost though. The BN government under Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman is now trying to make the situation goof for the victims. Before long, once the paperwork and legal applications have been completed, the people in Tongod will be issued with Communal Titles.
During the tenure of Yong Teck Lee in as little as 2 years, he approved some 265 logging licences covering over 300,000 ha (an area 5 times larger than the island of Singapore). These licences were given to cronies, associates, non-Sabahans included, and is clearly an act of gross irresponsibility at the expense of environmental conservation, sustainability and public interest.
ReplyDeleteThe delegation of authority to approve logging areas given by Cabinet to Datuk Yong Teck Lee as CM, was well and truly taken advantage of and abused by Yong to reward his friends, cronies and supporters.
Can you imagine what will happen if SAPP were to come back into power?
It will be a disaster if SAPP come back into power.
ReplyDeleteThere is no solidarity among the opposition parties.
ReplyDeletePOLITIK YONG TECK LEE IBARAT KAPAL YANG KARAM SUDAH, BEGITU JUGA JEFFERY 2X5 SAJA SAMA YTL.
ReplyDeleteYtl hanya pandai cakap saja tu..
ReplyDeleteI do think that SAPP is really a havoc to BN.
ReplyDeleteThe opposition is trying to knock us down like hell. It's not even qualified to do so.
ReplyDeleteNobody is going to give a lemonade to SAPP though.
ReplyDeleteSAPP dulu pn menang kerana BN, kalau sendirian jgn harap nk menang.
Percayalah.
ReplyDeletePrime Minister Najib Abdul Razak expressed "serious doubts" over the opposition's elections plans.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteSpeaking to business leaders at Invest Malaysia 2012, he said the "populist" approach only shows that Pakatan Rakyat are only interested in getting to office.
The Government already spending RM2 billion a month on (petrol) subsidies and if we push it to RM3 billion or RM4 billion, what will it do to our finances?
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteHe said Pakatan’s promises of free education and a higher minimum wage "are far too far- fetched" and a stark difference to what the BN is offering.
ReplyDeleteThis, he said, is why the BN will need to secure a decisive victory in the next polls.
ReplyDeleteBN have a comprehensive, cohesive, credible and realistic programme and roadmap to get Malaysia to be a high income nation.
ReplyDeleteBut all that we have in mind is predicated on a strong mandate from the people.
ReplyDeleteTo another question, the PM said that, despite its faults, Malaysia remains a good country in which to live and do business as it has a "good mix" of lifestyles, approaches and ideologies.
He also urged local business owners to be more competitive and self-reliant.
ReplyDeleteNajib notd that there is a need for more competition (but) not in the form of cheap labour.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteRelying on cheap labour and cheap gas is not the goal (of the government).
ReplyDeleteIn his keynote speech, Najib said the government is committed to ensure the fiscal health of the economy.
ReplyDeleteThe government will ensure the debt limit will not exceed 55 percent of the GDP and are taking steps to bring down our fiscal deficit which was 4.8 percent last year.
ReplyDeleteHe also announced several initiatives, including a task force of the capital market and double tax-breaks for companies that participate in the 1Malaysia Training Scheme.
The same incentives will be extended to companies that re-train and employ women who have taken career breaks.
