Video Pengganas Serang Bas Pakatan Rakyat Di Pahang

Kenapa pula UMNO berbuat demikian?

  12. When explaining the final procedures of the election to grassroots leaders, BN chairman Datuk Seri Najib Razak reminded BN members who have not been fielded to contest in the upcoming general election to keep their disappointment and dissatisfaction for only 24 hours and they should calm down to help canvassing after that.

  13. Najib's message is simple, that is, the BN cannot afford any internal sabotage. Even former prime ministers, namely Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Tun Abdullah Badawi have advised component party leaders to accept the candidates chosen by Najib.

    ReplyDelete
  14. The BN failed to gain two-thirds of majority seats in the Parliament in the 2008 general election and internal sabotage was among the reasons.

    ReplyDelete

  15. Mahathir had criticised Abdullah for causing infighting in Umno at that time but today, the two former prime ministers have condemned such acts.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Internal sabotage is indeed the fatal weakness for the BN in retaining its power. Based on the number of members of the BN, if all members vote for the BN, its regime will certainly be unshakable.

    ReplyDelete

  17. Umno has 3,386,274 members, the MCA has 1,000,000 while the MIC has more than 500,000.

    ReplyDelete

  18. Together with at least 5,000,000 members from Gerakan, PPP and other component parties, as well as votes from the 1,400,000 civil servants and their family members, the basic support of the BN should have more than half of the total 13,268,002 voters.

    ReplyDelete

  19. However, it is just a data on paper, not all of them would be turned into votes. DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang has tried to rope in votes of MCA and Umno members.

    ReplyDelete

  20. To ensure not much rebound from the grassroots, the move to replace candidates and shift constituencies should then be logical and reasonable.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Since the allocation of seats and candidates have not been announced, rumours are spread, including one saying that to retain the Perak state regime, Umno would contest in MIC's Behrang and Pasir Panjang state constituencies which are Malay dominated. However, the MIC is not satisfied with it and thus protested.

    ReplyDelete

  22. As a compensation, the MIC gets to contest in MCA's Tronoh state constituency and Gerakan's Jalong state constituency. And the two Chinese-based component parties have then become the "victims".

    ReplyDelete

  23. If we say that such a deployment is because most Chinese voters are supporting Pakatan Rakyat while Indian votes have returned to the BN, there are only 14.31% of Indian voters in Tronoh and 26.72% in Jalong, they simply cannot play much role here.

    ReplyDelete
  24. One thing that should not be forgotten is, the MCA and Gerakan have been serving the constituencies for a very long time and thus, they should have gained some basic support.

    ReplyDelete

  25. The Indian votes gained by the MIC candidates would not be enough to offset the number of Chinese votes they are going to lose.

    ReplyDelete

  26. It might not be feasible either to replace Gerakan with the PPP in Kepong parliamentary constituency.

    ReplyDelete

  27. Gerakan's preferred candidate Lau Hoi Keong has continued to serve the people in Kepong even after suffering a defeat in the 2008 general election.

    ReplyDelete

  28. If the BN really wants to replace him, they should replace with a MCA candidate as at least, the MCA has contact with Chinese groups.

    ReplyDelete

  29. Even if the MCA loses in Kepong, which has 88.43% of Chinese voters, it should be able to get more votes compared to the PPP.

    ReplyDelete

  30. In addition, even though the number of non-BN component party members to contest under the BN banner, very likely independent candidates who support the BN, is small, it would still cause dissatisfaction among BN grassroots.

    ReplyDelete

  31. The BN has tried its best to put out the fire and curb internal sabotage.

    ReplyDelete
  32. However, it is most difficult to solve problems among people. It is the biggest worry of the BN.
